Are these fish compatible ?

Can a Black Ghost Knife fish and an Elephant-nose fish co-exist in the same aquarium. I have heard that fish with electric organs should not be kept together but, I have seen this done in videos please clarify.

They can be kept together however I wouldn't recommend it. Knifefish are quite active and boisterous which may not be appreciated by the more delicate Elephantnose. Ideally Elephantnoses should be kept in a species tank or with a few peaceful tankmates such as Congo tetras (Phenacogrammus interruptus).

As for the electric organs, these only produce weak electronic signals, they won't do the fish any harm. In nature these organs are used in the detection of food.
