How can I get a fishing job in Alaska?

I'm mostly interested in salmon and King Crab fishing fields. What are the prerequisits for this job. Are there corperations that I could call? Who would I need to contact?

Tyson Corporation owns several corporations, including a major fishing company. Many of the fishing corporations are based in Seattle and fish the Alaska area. Icicle Seafoods, Artic Alaska Seafoods, are two of the largest. Several Fishing Companies advertise every year for help, they are in the Seattle newspapers and in the State of Washington Worksource web site.
Experience is preferred but they are always in need of a few greenhorns. Some of the vessels hire only on a one to one basis.
The fishing fleet was in port today so there is much work to be done before the fleet sails. If you are in Seattle check Fisherman's Terminal, in Ballard. Maybe someone will take a chance. The salmon season is nearly shutdown this year so it's not likely to be hiring. Do you have any marine experience? Can you repair a diesel engine or generator? Can you cook?
