Features cruise from Fort Lauderdale, Beaches, Arts and Entertainment

The recent trip to Fort Lauderdale a friend and I were really impressed with how the city has grown. When we were younger we used to come here for spring break and enjoyed the area, an area now quite funny, but even cultural.

We've always liked the Fort Lauderdale area due to its tropical climate warms in summer and winters are so mild that many of our friends from the north down a visit. The Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport is a great place for friends and family who visit South Florida to fly to and properly collected. One of the busiest ports of exit from the cruise, the Port Everglades, is only km from the airport. This is convenient for the four million cruise passengers passing through the busiest port Florida cruises each year to reach the ships that carried throughout the Caribbean, Europe and the rest of the world.

A great day trip if you are spending some time in the area is the Everglades National Park. The Everglades is almost a swamp that has many birds and animals that live there. It is really beautiful and great place to take an airboat ride especially if you've never been on an airboat before.

My friend and I stayed in Fort Lauderdale and decided to go down to Las Olas Blvd River Walk to the area. This is the art and entertainment district and also whether the Broward Center for the Performing Arts is located. We did not want to see a play or a recital modern dance, but we went to the Sunrise Cinemas. This is a great place to watch a movie with a unique twist. After the latest blockbuster, or Indy film you can go relax in the wine and beer bar in the lobby and talk about what we just saw, what we did with some people whose table was asked to share, is full of people who were friendly and we made new friends.

The next day we returned to the Paseo del Rio to take a boat tour of the area. You see, Fort Lauderdale is known as the "Venice of America "because it is crisscrossed by 300 miles of waterways. We went up and down the channels looking at all the magnificent architecture of the houses area and yachts. So to say that the area is great if you like the water is an understatement. If you own a yacht or any boat, which many people do, is a perfect for sailing either on the Intracoastal or, as we did, through the channels.

Each year, usually in the fall, Fort Lauderdale has this shows great ship called the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. It is the largest water show boat in the world and shows off more than three billion dollars on boats, yachts and superyachts, as well as electronics, engines and thousands of boat accessories. The Boat Show takes more than three million square feet of space, both on land as in water, but do not worry that provide a network of water taxis, boat and bus shuttles to help people move. Maybe we'll be back for this reason that sounds like fun.

The next day we decided to just relax and go to the beach. The area boasts 23 miles of beautiful Fort Lauderdale beaches so we knew we'd find one we liked. These are some of the ones we visited. Deerfield Beach is a beach cove and is ideal for a quiet, peaceful on the beach. Then there has Hillsboro Beach Hillsboro Lighthouse. This is the perfect beach to sit and watch all the yachts and other boats come because it is right at the entrance. Pompano Beach was named to the Pompano fish in the area, every year the host Pompano Seafood festival and Fishing Rodeo. There is a curve of the Gulf Stream makes is here that some of the warmest, clearest water in southern Florida. Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is one of the few places in Florida where the three levels of the system natural coral reef is close enough to the beach so you can swim and do snorkeling or diving thing we did was spectacular.

Fort Lauderdale is a great place to come for a vacation or come for a few days as we did. You can enjoy the arts, the beach or off a boat festival theater, shopping or sightseeing and enjoy some of our fabulous seafood in Florida. Fort Lauderdale has many options of things to do and warm sunny climate, almost always, to let them in.
