anyone know of places to stay that are fisherman friendly ie let u fish of docks in islamadora and key west ?

also need to be a good value no high end places and maybe rent boats or have guides or party boats will be visiting both thanx

Most "docks" or marina's won't have the kind of fishing you probably want to do.

I mean you CAN catch some smaller Mangrove Snapper, Yellow-tails, small Grouper, small 'Cuda, Puffers, Grunts, Etc but they will be VERY small and eventually boring to catch.

Your "best bet" for any type of shore-fishing would be the bridge abutments and small "pull-offs" that are everywhere in the Keys.

Find a "pull-off" area and walk to the nearest, deepest, water WITH MOVING CURRENT and start fishing. Even then, to catch any "decent sized" or quality fish you MUST use a chum slick.

I have fished the Keys from shore MANY times and only when I've been using a chum slick did I catch anything fantastic. (And I'm a firm believer & participant of general flats/fly-fishing, where chumming is considered "cheating". lol)
